The National Park Service has managed our country's parks for nearly 100 years, and recently have seen record attendance. But what percentage of those visitors are millennials? Not a lot. Most of the visitors have been of the Boomer generation. According to National Park Service Director, Jonathan Jarvis, "If we were a business and that was our clientele, then over the long term, we would probably be out of business."
For this reason, the Park Service will be launching a major campaign geared toward millennials and children. First lady Michelle Obama and former first lady, Laura Bush will co-chair the campaign and are calling on young people to explore our country's public lands and 'find your park.'
So, millennials, take some time to disconnect from technology and get out there and 'find your park!'
