This post is inspired by one of our exceptional millennial Twitter followers - Ms. Chelsea Wallace. Chelsea writes;
Chelsea, I can see why you asked this question. Twitter chats on entrepreneurship aren't easy to find. In fact, I had to dig deep and I mean deep. In the end, I've compiled what I believe to be a solid list for whatever phase of business you're in.
But before I jump in, I want to give those of you less familiar with Twitter chats a brief primer. "Twitter chats" are conversations that happen on Twitter. Or as I like to say, a Twitter chat is an AOL chat room with purpose. Organized around a specific topic, Twitter chats take place at a scheduled time and date. The chats are led by a moderator posing questions to a guest host or the audience.
If you haven't attended one, it's an adrenaline rush. But more importantly, it's one the best ways to network, and if you're a new business, it's a way to gain serious brand exposure. For example, Chelsea Krost, the host of #MillennialTalk, gets 20 million impressions in a single hour. Incredible, right?!
So, let's get the Twitter chat started.
#StartupChats is your own personal guide to entrepreneurship. No seriously, topics of past discussion include: Building A Lean Startup, Valuation, Time Hacking: Work/Life Balance, Startup Finance and How to Find New Clients. The chat is every Wednesday & Friday 12 pm EST and is hosted by Start Up Canada - a grassroots startup network of entrepreneurs working together to build an environment for entrepreneurship in Canada. For list of upcoming chat topics, visit Startup Canada's website: http://www.startupcan.ca/events/
For someone who has been a solopreneur for sometime now, I can't stress enough the importance of surrounding yourself with a support system. Lady entrepreneurs, the #Ambitionista chat is your virtual support system. Every Monday night at 9 pm EST the #Ambitionista herself, Mira Joleigh, brings together a sisterhood of ambitious women to encourage one another to chase their dreams!
Branding, branding, branding - it's more than just a business buzz word. Your branding is how the world perceives your company; its products, services, logos, and employees. In other words, a strong brand perception is essential to the financial health of your company. If you're a new business or a business looking to increase revenues, tune into #BrandChat every Wednesday at 11 am EST. Join Emily Thompson and Kathleen Shannon every Wednesday night at 6 pm CST for #beingbosschat. Former creative entrepreneurs, Thompson and Shannon designed this chat to help their fellow creatives (i.e. designers, coaches, makers, and artists) to "be boss" in their own lives. Every week Michelle Stinson Ross and Alan K’nechto lead a vibrant discussion on topics that impact social media and marketing. If you're new to the social sphere or want to amp up your strategy, you won't want to miss #SocialChat. #SocialChat takes place Mondays at 9 pm EST.
Without money, you won't be in business for long. Every third Wednesday of the month at 12 pm EST, Launch NY hosts #LaunchHour - a live Q&A with real life entrepreneurs, investors, and resources interested in helping entrepreneurs. Past topics of discussion include: Lessons Learned from Crowdfunding, Crafting the Perfect Pitch to Win $1 million, Crowdfunding Your Startup, and Investing in Startups.
